Adam Mosseri flags AI authenticity worry on Instagram
The Instagram head said anxiety, frustration and anger about AI will keep rising over the next couple of years, while the app pushes labels and weighs how to rank AI posts.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri said negativity, anxiety and anger about AI are rising and will keep getting worse over the next couple of years.
He linked much of the worry to a fear of being left behind, including job displacement and content being used to train models.
Mosseri said Instagram does not rank AI creators differently, but suggested AI posts are probably not ranked as well as non-AI posts.
Instagram is requiring AI accounts to label themselves and has been cracking down on AI-generated profiles; he said banning AI content outright is not practical.
