AEMEND elects Azhar Abbas, Tariq Mahmood to top posts
Vice presidents, joint secretaries, a finance secretary and executive committee members were also chosen after General Council meetings in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
AEMEND elected Azhar Abbas as President and Tariq Mahmood as General Secretary.
Muhammad Usman and Mian Tahir are Vice Presidents; Rehan Ahmed and Nadeem Jamal are Joint Secretaries; Shahab Mahmood is Finance Secretary.
The General Council also elected eight further Executive Committee members after meetings in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
The Council voiced concern over press freedom, alleged PECA misuse and NCCIA actions, and said a fuller media statement will follow.
