Malik says over 12 million get pre-war petrol rates
At a university convocation in Islamabad, the petroleum minister said targeted, technology-backed relief keeps fuel affordable for those most in need amid the Hormuz disruption.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said more than 12–13 million people receive petrol at pre-war subsidised rates.
He spoke on Sunday in Islamabad at a university convocation.
He linked higher global fuel costs to disruption near the Strait of Hormuz.
He said Pakistan shifted from broad fuel subsidies to tech-enabled, need-based support.
He said any fall in world prices should pass through to households without special appeals.
