Bahrain New Work Rules Let Foreign Workers Take 90-Day Jobs

Bahrain New Work Rules let expatriates take short-term jobs with other companies, but the new employer must pay a fee if its Bahrainization rate is lower.

Foreign workers in Bahrain may now work for other employers on temporary assignments of up to 90 days.

The worker must hold a valid work permit for the whole temporary period.

Employers pay a BHD 5 administrative fee when they submit an application.

All temporary arrangements must be filed and managed through the LMRA's Expat Management System.
