CM Punjab’s inspection team sealed the canteen at Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi after a late-night visit.
Inspectors found expired food in refrigerators and said sanitary conditions at the canteen were unsatisfactory.
Special Assistant Shoaib Mirza ordered the seal, a heavy fine, and the arrest of responsible officials.
Wards and medical equipment were judged satisfactory; patients and attendants were also asked about medicines and facilities.
Expired and potentially hazardous food was removed from the canteen.
