BHC seeks Quetta tube-well report in Hazara Town water case

A two-judge bench ordered the Quetta commissioner, deputy commissioner, WASA heads and the PHE secretary to appear in person and file a full report by the next hearing on 2 November 2026.

Balochistan High Court on 29 October took up the lack of drinking water supply in Hazara Town and Hazarganji and ordered officials to appear with a comprehensive report.

The petition, filed on 21 September 2023, also covers Karkhasa and alleges a monopoly by private tube-well owners.

WASA said Karkhasa tube-wells and two reservoirs (300,000 and 200,000 gallons) are supplying piped areas, and 11 Hazarganji tube-wells are installed, with remaining work expected in five to six months.

Petitioner’s counsel said residents still lack adequate government water despite monthly payments and pointed to private sellers using WASA pipelines.

The next hearing is fixed for 2 November 2026.
