Punjab opens diesel tender for 1,180MW Bhikki plant
Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power has invited oil firms to prequalify for a three-year high-speed diesel contract at the Sheikhupura plant, which normally runs on imported RLNG.
Punjab-owned QATPL is arranging high-speed diesel for the 1,180MW Bhikki power plant in Sheikhupura as backup fuel.
Diesel-fired electricity was estimated at about Rs74 per unit when diesel was Rs395.20 a litre; after the 4 November cut, retail diesel is Rs391.52.
Oil marketing companies must apply via the Punjab e-Procurement System by 11:00 AM on 24 November 2026 for a three-year, as-needed supply deal.
NEPRA-linked September 2026 data put diesel fuel charges at Rs62.14 per unit versus Rs39.74 for RLNG; higher diesel use can raise monthly fuel adjustments on bills.
