Binance users pull $3.6bn after $6.3bn digital asset hack
After a freeze tied to a $6.3bn digital-asset breach, Binance processed heavy Sunday outflows while saying most stolen funds are covered and major coin withdrawals have resumed.
Customers withdrew a net $3.64bn on November 1 after Binance reopened following the record breach.
The incident affected about $6.3bn in digital assets; the firm said it has covered around 95% of stolen assets.
US FBI and other major organisations have accused North Korea of the cyber-attack.
Net Sunday outflows were just over 2% of Binance’s $171bn under management, the company said.
Withdrawals for more than two dozen major coins, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, have resumed.
