Cabinet approves 170 amendments to Companies Act, 2017
Adviser Haroon Akhtar Khan said a bill has gone to Parliament and that reform proposals recommend cutting duplicate rules, with inspections and a single-window portal also on the agenda.
The federal cabinet approved 170 amendments to the Companies Act, 2017, and a bill has been sent to Parliament.
Reform proposals recommend eliminating, on average, 70-75% of unnecessary or duplicative regulations.
About 60-70% of the overall reform work is complete, according to the adviser.
A planned single-window digital portal would reduce the need to visit several departments.
Businesses now face overlapping inspections by labour, environment, fire safety, building and boiler departments.
