ChatGPT chat lock moves selected conversations into a separate Locked Chats section, kept out of regular history, pinned chats and search results.

OpenAI says ChatGPT users can lock conversations with a four-digit PIN or, on supported devices, Face ID or Touch ID.

Locked chats move to a separate Locked Chats section, out of regular history, pinned chats and search results.

Locked Chats has its own memory, and new messages there do not update regular Memory.

Locking does not add end-to-end encryption or change retention, and resetting a PIN deletes locked chats.
