OpenAI has launched Locked Chats, a ChatGPT option that hides selected conversations behind a four-digit PIN.
On iOS and Android, Face ID or other biometrics can replace typing the PIN each time.
Locked chats stay out of regular history, pinned chats and search, in a separate Locked chats section.
The feature is not end-to-end encrypted; chats remain on OpenAI’s servers and may be used for training.
Resetting a forgotten PIN deletes all locked chats and uploaded files, with no recovery from support.
