CPEC power projects payment issues dismissed by Ahsan Iqbal
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said Chinese independent power producers under CPEC have no outstanding dues and that payments are being processed through the routine mechanism.
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said Chinese IPPs set up under CPEC are receiving payments on time.
He rejected claims of Rs500 billion in outstanding dues to Chinese IPPs, saying none were outstanding.
He said payments to Chinese IPPs were being processed under the routine mechanism.
The remarks came in Islamabad while he presented the Monthly Development Update for October 2026.
