Deepgram Voice AI acquires Daily, keeps Pipecat open
Deepgram Voice AI is buying Daily, the firm behind the Pipecat framework, for an undisclosed sum and says the open-source voice toolkit will remain vendor-neutral.
Deepgram said on Thursday it is acquiring Daily, the maker and maintainer of the open-source Pipecat voice AI framework.
The companies did not disclose the purchase price and said Pipecat will remain open source.
Daily has raised more than $62 million to date; Deepgram earlier this year became a unicorn after a $130 million Series C.
Both firms were in the same Y Combinator batch in 2016.
Deepgram is also launching Real-Time Context Standard (RCS), an open protocol for voice agents built with the Pipecat team.
