Govt Caps High-Speed Diesel Prices Amidst Iran-US Oil Crisis

Diesel price in Pakistan will now follow a revised HSD formula, with a US$38.00 per barrel crack ceiling and a US$11.33 floor, set for three months.

The Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) revised the HSD pricing mechanism in a directive dated October 19, 2026.

The crack ceiling is US$38.00 per barrel and the floor is US$11.33 per barrel.

The government will use a seven-working-day average crack, up to the ceiling, to set the maximum allowed crack.

The revised framework runs for three months and may be reconsidered earlier if prices fall rapidly.

OGRA has been asked to implement the decisions immediately; no new per-litre rate is given in the announcement.
