DRAP starts work on Pakistan's first medical devices policy
Officials say the DRAP medical devices policy drive aims to boost local manufacturing, tighten oversight, and widen access to essential medical technologies under the 2026–30 regulatory plan.
DRAP has opened stakeholder consultations in Islamabad on Pakistan’s first Medical Devices Policy.
Officials say the goals are local manufacturing, stronger regulation, and better access to essential medical technologies.
The preliminary meeting aligns with the National Regulatory System Strategic Plan 2026–30.
PNRA, Connectech, PEMDA, HDAP, local manufacturers, and contract research organisations took part.
The draft approach is meant to support Made in Pakistan goals and cut reliance on imported devices.
