DRAP brings vitamins, infant milk under stricter oversight
DRAP’s new notification classifies specified vitamins, supplements, medicated soaps, shampoos and specialised infant milk as therapeutic goods needing registration and quality checks before sale.
DRAP has issued Notification No. S.R.O. 1688(I)/2026, dated 6 October 2026, tightening oversight of eight health product categories.
Covered items named by official sources include vitamins, dietary supplements, medicated soaps, shampoos and specialised infant milk.
Products under the framework must meet registration, approval and quality-control rules before manufacture or marketing in Pakistan.
The aim is safer products with medicinal claims and fewer substandard or counterfeit items on retail shelves.
Pharmacists urge buyers to use reliable outlets and seek professional advice on supplements and infant nutrition.
