Electricity bill hike: Rs32.7bn fuel charge hits November bills

The power division said an electricity bill hike from a Rs2.56 per unit fuel adjustment would add an estimated Rs32.7bn to November bills.

The power division projects a fuel cost adjustment (FCA) of Rs2.56 per unit for September electricity use.

The division estimates the charge will add about Rs32.7bn to consumers' November electricity bills.

The division says targeted load management cut the increase by up to Rs3.44 per unit.

The August FCA was Rs1.11 per unit, so September's projection is Rs1.45 higher.

Industrial consumers dispute the support package, and a Nepra decision on it is still awaited.
