FBR destroys Rs570m illegal cigarettes in Sukkur blaze

FBR destroyed non-tax-paid cigarettes and tobacco worth Rs570 million in Sukkur on Friday.
RTO Sukkur ran 11 operations over the past two months and seized 1,644 cartons valued at about Rs210 million.
Officials say tax evasion of Rs367 million was detected under Sales Tax and Federal Excise Duty.
The drive followed directives from Chief Commissioner Zigham Abbas; Inland Revenue Officer Abdul Majeed Sangi led the team.
Abbas said the board will keep acting against tax evasion that hits the national exchequer and legal traders.
