FBR IRIS filing rules would bind firms to portal formats
Draft FBR IRIS filing rules would make companies attach machine-readable accounts with income-tax returns on the portal from tax year 2026, after an SRO opened a short comment window.
FBR’s draft would require company accounts with returns to arrive on IRIS only as machine-readable files from tax year 2026.
The change sits in SRO 1912(I)/2026, adding sub-rule (2F) to Rule 73 of the Income Tax Rules, 2002.
Files must follow Board-set data maps; different company classes could face different specs.
Filers or allowed e-intermediaries would confirm submissions with a digital signature or another secure credential-linked method.
Affected parties have seven days after Gazette publication to send objections before the Board finalises the text.
