FBR tax collection up yearly but lags IMF-linked pace
Provisional figures put federal receipts for July–October FY27 a few tens of billions short of target, with October also below the Rs1.132 trillion goal as banks and the power sector lagged.
July–October FY27 FBR receipts are reported at about Rs4.06–4.089 trillion, short of target by Rs96–124 billion depending on the provisional tally.
October collection is given as either Rs974 billion or a provisional Rs1,003 billion against a Rs1.132 trillion target.
Sources cite an ambitious target plus weak advance tax from financial firms and falling Disco/power-sector contributions.
Income tax is said to be Rs165 billion below its four-month mark; sales tax exceeded its target.
Annual FY27 goal is Rs15.263 trillion; internal projections cited as Rs14.3–14.6 trillion, with the IMF first-half revenue test still ahead.
