LESCO average billing: FCCP upholds LHC Hamdard order
The Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan upheld a Lahore High Court ruling for Hamdard Laboratories after hearing both sides on defective meters and average electricity charges.
The Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan dismissed LESCO’s appeal in a dispute with Hamdard Laboratories over average electricity billing.
The court upheld an earlier Lahore High Court judgment favouring Hamdard Laboratories.
Justice Aamer Farooq, heading a two-member bench, noted the meter was owned by LESCO and that the consumer was not accused of tampering.
LESCO’s counsel said both front and back-up meters were defective; Hamdard’s counsel said an inquiry found the back-up meter working.
