Court grants two-day custody in NADRA passport fraud probe

An Islamabad magistrate placed four accused in short FIA custody after a complaint tied Tracking ID misuse at a Rawalpindi NADRA centre to a large batch of forged travel documents.

Four accused were given two-day FIA physical remand by an Islamabad West magistrate and must reappear on 30 October.

The probe stems from Enquiry No. 43/2025 into 12,096 forged or altered Pakistani passports of Afghan nationals returned by Saudi authorities.

The FIR cites illegal handling of 10 Tracking IDs and names six people linked to NADRA’s NRC-2 on Murree Road, Rawalpindi.

NADRA filed the complaint; charges include PECA 2016 and passport, emigration, corruption and foreigners laws.
