Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology schedules live surgeries Nov 6

The Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology will broadcast live heart operations to a surgeons’ conference on 6 November, overlapping a Punjab Healthcare Commission inspection window set by the hospital’s own order.

FIC Medical Superintendent Dr Nadeem Akhtar’s order No.30419-25 of 29 October 2026 said Punjab Healthcare Commission teams would inspect the hospital from 2 to 7 November 2026.

A two-day Pakistan Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons conference, held with FIC at a private hotel, plans live OT broadcasts from FIC on Friday 6 November, 8:30am–12:30pm.

Staff were told to follow duty rosters, avoid negligence and leave, with departmental action threatened for non-compliance.

When asked, the MS said PHC visits would run 2–5 November and live surgeries would be shown on 6 November, which differs from the dates in his order.

Hospital staff are reportedly concerned that theatre, anaesthesia, perfusion and nursing teams may struggle to run live surgeries while inspections cover attendance, records, emergency and routine work.
