Police say a couple, their two daughters and the man's sister were found dead in a rented house near Gulshan-e-Hadeed. A note cited six months without help. Reports disagree on their ages.

Police found five members of one family dead in a rented house in Karachi's Bin Qasim area, near Gulshan-e-Hadeed, in the night from Monday into Tuesday.

ARY News named Shahzaib, 30, his wife Saba, 28, his sister Shumaila, 20, and daughters Aizal, five, and Arya, three. Geo News, citing rescue officials, gave ages of 40, 40, 18, and four and five.

Preliminary inquiries say Shahzaib allegedly shot his wife and then himself, while his sister and the two children were reportedly poisoned.

A bloodstained note reportedly said the family had asked relatives for six months for groceries, milk and a gas refill, and was refused.

Malir's senior police officer said the note is under forensic and handwriting tests and the case is a suspected suicide.
