Foreign Office rejects Indian defence minister statement threat
Pakistan’s Foreign Office rejected an Indian defence minister statement warning of a larger strike, calling the remarks reckless and a risk to South Asian peace.
The Foreign Office on Friday condemned Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s remarks as provocative and a threat of aggression against Pakistan.
Singh had warned that fresh terrorist activity from across the border would invite a strike bigger than the last one.
FO spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan said the remarks reflect a hegemonistic mindset and endanger regional peace.
He recalled the brief May conflict last year and said Pakistan remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty.
The FO warned that restraint should not be mistaken for weakness and that any aggression would meet a forceful response.
