5 detained PTI MNAs stay absent from NA proceedings
Five elected PTI members remained away from Friday’s National Assembly sitting after the party’s chief whip asked the speaker to produce all nine detained lawmakers.
Four detained PTI MNAs were brought to Parliament on Friday for the ongoing National Assembly session.
Five of the nine lawmakers named in a production request remained absent from the proceedings.
PTI chief whip Aamir Dogar had written to Speaker Ayaz Sadiq seeking orders for all nine members.
The four who arrived were held under tight security; their Parliament Lodges residences are treated as sub-jails.
Reasons for not producing the other five were not immediately clear.
