Saleem Haider backs scrap of 77 University of Kamalia hires
As chancellor, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan dismissed a revision plea and kept the syndicate’s July 2023 scrap of 77 BPS-1 to 16 non-teaching posts in force.
Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, as University of Kamalia chancellor, upheld the scrap of 77 non-teaching appointments.
The syndicate cancelled the December 2022 recruitment on 4 July 2023 over missing approvals, budget gaps and process flaws.
The Election Commission of Pakistan had banned recruitments from 22 January 2023; letters were issued on 13 April before concurrence.
The registrar said the posts would have meant over Rs100m in salaries against about Rs70m in university revenue that year.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Yasir Nawab said the university will implement the governor’s 14 October order.
