The Gujranwala by-election notice concerns Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar, who attended a PML(N) candidate's campaign in NA-77 and has been called to explain on 8 November.
The Election Commission issued a notice to Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar over campaign conduct in the NA-77 Gujranwala by-election.
The commission says Tarar joined a PML(N) candidate's campaign, which it considers a breach of paragraphs 18 and 41 of the code of conduct.
A separate notice was issued under Section 182 of the Elections Act 2017, which covers taking part in campaign events during a campaign ban.
Tarar has been summoned for an explanation at 11am on 8 November; if he does not appear, action will be taken on the available record.
