Advocate Siraj Ahmed ordered to pay Rs2 lakh into exchequer

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro ordered the Rs200,000 paid into the national exchequer and restricted the lawyer’s High Court entry until the fine is deposited, with a limited hearing exception.

The Islamabad High Court fined Advocate Siraj Ahmed Rs200,000 for a frivolous, meritless petition.

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro ordered the amount deposited in the national exchequer.

Until payment, he may not enter the High Court’s administrative or judicial branches, except for scheduled hearings.

The court said he failed to answer maintainability objections and did not show the matter was pending before Bench I.

Copies of the order were directed to the IHC Bar Association, Islamabad Bar Council and District Bar Association.
