IHC summons Passport DG to appear in person over ECL order, and wants a compliance report on a pending passport renewal before the October 21 hearing.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the Director General of Immigration and Passports to appear in person.

The contempt petition alleges a citizen's name stayed on the Exit Control List (ECL) despite a September 4, 2026 order to remove it.

The court also ordered the Secretary Interior to process the petitioner's pending passport renewal application.

The respondents' report did not address the passport renewal direction, which the judge called inadequate.

The next hearing is set for October 21.
