Mazari, Chattha ask Supreme Court to halt ATC hearing
The couple seek to overturn an October 19 high court refusal of interim relief and to stop an Islamabad anti-terrorism court from advancing their security breach case.
Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha on Monday petitioned the Supreme Court to set aside an October 19 Islamabad High Court order and restrain their anti-terrorism court trial.
The IHC had refused interim relief to halt the trial but issued notices on related pleas; a division bench also issued notices on appeals against charge framing.
The Aabpara Police Station case alleges a security risk during an international cricket team’s visit in October 2024; the couple deny terrorism and cite rushed proceedings.
Defence lawyers say documents were not supplied and charges were framed without the accused present in court.
