The Cabinet Division’s 2026 leave calendar is the basis for the closure; Punjab has issued a matching provincial notice.

Public offices and schools are expected to stay shut on that Monday and reopen on Tuesday, 10 November.

Staff and students who already rest on Saturday and Sunday gain consecutive leave from 7 to 9 November.

Private firms and essential services may set their own rosters.
