Islamabad schools reopen after a three-week closure
Islamabad schools reopen under late Sunday orders from the Federal Directorate of Education, covering most of 38 institutions while about 10 stay occupied by police.
Government schools and colleges in Islamabad have started reopening after a closure that began on 24 September.
The Federal Directorate of Education told most of 38 affected institutions to reopen late on Sunday night.
About 10 schools and colleges remain closed because police are still on the premises.
A principal said the late notice hindered contact with families and expected attendance to improve by Tuesday.
Parents, teachers and a faculty member at H-9 College have raised concern about missed classes and academic progress.
