Settlers torch mosque in Mikhmas village, Israeli army says
Soldiers were sent to Mikhmas after reports of arson, graffiti and a damaged vehicle, the Israeli military said, and no suspects have been identified so far.
Israeli settlers set fire to a mosque in Mikhmas, a village in the occupied West Bank, shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
Palestinian resident Atta Kanaan said young men from the village used extinguishers to contain part of the fire.
Kanaan also said settlers set fire to a car.
The Israeli military said no suspects had been identified and an investigation had been opened.
Rouhi Fattouh, president of the Palestinian National Council, called the arson a barbaric act.
