Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz ordered Jhang Deputy Commissioner Babar Sahib Din removed with immediate effect.
She said a Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (Pera) vehicle was used in a jeep rally for purposes outside Pera’s mandate.
A social media video of the vehicle in the rally prompted her notice; she rejected a security-and-rescue explanation.
A Services and General Administration Department notification, on the governor’s orders, transferred him and directed him to report for further orders.
Pera’s director general had already written to DCs on Oct 21 about unauthorised use of Pera double-cabin vehicles.
