Hafiz Naeem warns of Islamabad march unless petrol levy ends
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman says Jamaat-i-Islami will move on Islamabad with full force if the prime minister does not scrap fuel levies or offer tangible relief first.
JI Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said the party will march to Islamabad in mid-November if the petroleum levy is not abolished.
JI wants levies removed, citing Rs114 per litre on petrol and Rs100 per litre on diesel.
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal and SAPM Rana Sanaullah contacted JI; a meeting with PM Shehbaz Sharif was expected within two days.
Rehman called the September relief package for bikes, autos and small cars inadequate.
JI has protested the levy since August, including a postponed long march in September.
