JUI-F cadres pack Mufti Mehmood Markaz after removal rumours
JUI-F secretariat demolition talk brought Ansarul Islam volunteers and party cadres to Mufti Mehmood Markaz, while KP leaders said they had no PDA notice and claimed officials vowed no harm.
JUI-F workers and Ansarul Islam volunteers gathered Wednesday at Mufti Mehmood Markaz on Ring Road in Peshawar over rumours of partial razing.
KP information secretary Abdul Jalil Jan said the party got no Peshawar Development Authority notice and was told no harmful step would follow.
Provincial emir Senator Maulana Attaur Rehman called the scare a pressure move and said any razing would put Maulana Fazlur Rahman’s safety at risk.
District and PDA officials did not confirm the party’s claim of assurances.
The city drive has already cleared 560 structures, with more work Wednesday on Circular Road between Ramdas Chowk and Asia Gate.
