K2 Airways crash: Pakistan seeks foreign help for deep-sea search

In the latest K2 Airways crash update, the government has briefed the cargo airline's owners on a planned deep-sea operation, and the company will cover half the costs.

A K2 Airways cargo aircraft crashed into the sea near Ormara on July 7 while returning from Sharjah to Karachi.

Pakistan is seeking international expertise for a deep-sea operation to retrieve the black box and locate the wreckage.

The company will bear 50 per cent of the expenses for recovering the black box and locating the wreckage.

Signals from the black box stopped about a month after the crash, after the Pakistan Navy had located it deep underwater.

The Bureau of Aircraft Safety Investigation is continuing its probe, and the cause of the crash is not yet confirmed.
