University Road dig cuts gas to Gulshan, Saddar till 5pm
A Karachi gas supply disruption hit several neighbourhoods on Saturday after BRT Red Line excavation damaged a high-pressure line on University Road; SSGC said supply was restored by 5pm.
A high-pressure gas pipeline near the Gulshan-i-Iqbal telephone exchange on University Road was damaged around 1pm during BRT Red Line excavation.
Supply was suspended in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, areas around Mazar-i-Quaid, parts of Garden, Saddar, Burns Road and other localities.
SSGC said repair teams reached the site promptly and completed work by 5pm, after which supply was restored.
Residents reported cooking disruption at lunchtime; some still felt low pressure after the announced restoration.
Households and eateries in Saddar and Garden saw extra demand as families sought restaurant meals.
