KMC wardens director alleges abduction by railway police

A case was registered on the KMC's complaint as the two sides dispute who owns the land under a Rs780 million dual carriageway being built in Karachi.

A kidnapping and torture case was registered against Pakistan Railways police officials at Shahrah-i-Faisal police station on a KMC complaint.

KMC City Wardens Director Saim Imran alleges he was abducted, tortured and later regained consciousness at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The disputed dual carriageway links Natha Khan Bridge with Pehlwan Goth and Habib University, and is valued at around Rs780 million.

A railway official says the land belongs to the KCR, the Karachi Circular Railway; the KMC rejects this and says legal requirements were met.

Both sides say they are in contact, and railway authorities will decide their next step under the law.
