Talat Mahmood rejects FPCCI block on KCCI election nominees
Karachi Chamber of Commerce election nominations for FPCCI’s 2027–28 term were disallowed on 31 October 2026; President Talat Mahmood calls the ban unjustified.
On 31 October 2026, the FPCCI secretary-general disallowed KCCI’s nominations for the FPCCI elections 2027–28.
KCCI President Talat Mahmood rejected the move as unjustified, citing a dispute over membership certificate books.
He said KCCI has printed certificates through the Pakistan Security Printing Corporation since October 2014.
A separate dispute concerns Muhammad Rehan Hanif’s General Body nomination and Associate versus Corporate class.
Mahmood urged the DGTO and Ministry of Commerce to review the decision and left open legal options.
