Ex-GB CM Khurshid jailed on remand in 26 Nov protest case
The former Gilgit-Baltistan premier stays behind bars for inquiry after an Islamabad anti-terrorism bench refused police a full month of investigative custody.
An Islamabad anti-terrorism bench placed former GB premier Khalid Khurshid under jail custody for inquiry in a 26 November protest FIR.
Investigators wanted a full month of physical custody; the bench refused.
PTI said he was seized on 11 October at Peshawar’s Speaker House with KP Speaker Babar Saleem Swati and others.
His son Hanifullah has asked the Peshawar High Court to secure his return and protect Speaker House camera recordings.
A separate Gilgit-Baltistan anti-terrorism conviction in December 2024 carried a 34-year term and a Rs600,000 fine.
