Khyber Pakhtunkhwa emergency resolution set for Wednesday
In Islamabad, PML-N lawmakers agreed to ask the National Assembly for Wednesday’s endorsement, after Rana Sanaullah said the province had to show results against terrorism.
The PML-N parliamentary party, meeting in Islamabad, decided to seek National Assembly approval for an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Assembly is scheduled to approve a resolution endorsing the emergency on Wednesday.
Rana Sanaullah said the step was taken out of compulsion, to show results and to end terrorism.
He alleged the PTI-led provincial government had not fully cooperated, while saying Balochistan’s government had.
He said the banned TTP and Fitna al-Khawarij were involved, and that Afghanistan had not accepted proposals from Saudi Arabia, China, Turkiye and Qatar.
