Moonis Elahi rejects KP emergency banners in Gujrat
Unidentified banners in Gujrat tied PTI and PML-Q figures to KP emergency news, but Moonis Elahi and others denied backing governor's rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Banners across Gujrat on Sunday showed Parvez Elahi and Moonis Elahi with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and presented the Elahis as backing emergency and governor's rule in KP.
Moonis Elahi said the pictures were used fraudulently and that he and his father remain with Imran Khan. Sajid Yousaf and Syed Wajahat Shah also denied any support.
A PML-Q spokesman objected to a Jail Chowk banner that linked Wajahat Hussain's family with Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz. The banners were then removed.
Sources said PTI chairman Gohar Ali Khan consulted Parvez Elahi on talks with the federal government before emergency was imposed in KP.
PML-Q MPA Ijaz Ahmed Ranian distributed sweets near Dinga to celebrate the imposition. Salik Hussain and Shafay Hussain did not appear on such banners.
