Bukhari says parliament must review the KP emergency
PPP secretary general Nayyar Hussain Bukhari said parliament will examine the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa emergency, and that the step must follow the Constitution rather than politics.
A day after emergency and governor's rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the PPP said the Constitution must guide the next steps.
Secretary general Nayyar Hussain Bukhari said parliament would examine the measure and decide under constitutional procedures.
He said an extraordinary step may be necessary, but it must follow the law rather than political considerations.
Bukhari said talks led by Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari had not produced a solution.
He pointed to terrorist attacks, residents staying indoors in several areas, and the need to stop infiltration from Afghanistan.
