Lahore High Court faults ACE report in Bhatti FIR case

Justice Abher Gul Khan called the director general's first report inadequate and gave officials two weeks to file detailed written replies.

The Lahore High Court on Monday was dissatisfied with the initial report of Anti-Corruption Establishment Director General Sohail Zafar Chattha.

Justice Abher Gul Khan questioned an FIR registered on 13 April 2023, the same day the court issued a stay.

A law officer said the inquiry began on 7 April 2023, that approval for the FIR came before the stay, and that the written order had not arrived.

The judge summoned the officer who authorised the FIR and other officials, then adjourned the contempt case for two weeks.

Former Punjab Assembly secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti filed the contempt petition in 2023.
