Lahore kite ban enforcement: more than 100,000 seized kites and thousands of string rolls were set ablaze near Old Ravi Bridge, a spokesperson said.

More than 100,000 seized kites and thousands of string rolls were set ablaze near Old Ravi Bridge in Lahore.

The burning was carried out under the supervision of Senior Civil Judge Muhammad Jamil.

A spokesperson said the destroyed items included 3,930 rolls of kite string, 2,279 bundles of pinna string and 1,737 rolls of chemical-coated string.

The destruction was described as part of an intensified crackdown on illegal kite flying.
