Justice Abher Gul Khan held that a PTI leaders’ challenge to sections 3 and 5 of Punjab’s preventive detention law was not maintainable after an earlier larger-bench ruling.
The Lahore High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition challenging sections 3 and 5 of Punjab’s preventive detention law.
Justice Abher Gul Khan found the plea not maintainable, citing an earlier larger-bench decision on preventive detention.
PTI leaders Ejaz Shafi, Imtiaz Mahmood and others had filed the case; Advocate Azhar Siddique appeared for them.
Counsel cited a June 19, 2025 larger-bench order referring the matter to the law secretary and said little progress followed.
A government law officer opposed fresh proceedings and sought heavy costs; the court dismissed the petition.
