Punjab cabinet approves salaries for 2,584 waiting-list constables

The Punjab cabinet backed a one-time humanitarian waiver so waiting-list recruits hired under amended standing orders can finally draw their pay.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved salary release for 2,584 Punjab Police constables.

The officers were recruited from the waiting list under amendments to standing orders.

Approval came at a recent provincial cabinet meeting in Punjab.

Pay was cleared on humanitarian grounds through a One-Time Waiver after financial hardship.

A Punjab Police spokesperson said the amended summary was formally approved by the cabinet.
