Rs300bn cheap STEP credit anchors Punjab’s new PIVOT package
The three-year package blends nearly Rs1.1 trillion in public outlays with a large private-investment target, cheap trade credit, factory energy support and agro-processing parks in four districts.
CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the PIVOT plan 2026–29, valued at Rs1,995.3 billion.
Goals include $6.8 billion in extra exports, 162,000 direct jobs and better livelihoods for over one million people.
STEP would offer Rs300 billion in concessional loans at zero to five per cent for eligible firms.
About Rs753.7 billion is set aside for industry; four agro-processing parks are planned in Sargodha, Khanewal, Okara and Bhakkar.
Officials say a PIVOT Board, secretariat and dashboard will track delivery, with rollout targeted within six months.
